Whilst last week's general election was disappointing in terms of the result it is important that we acknowledge that many of you did a huge amount of work to support our campaign.
The Association will be holding a post-election event at Buxton Conservative Club on Friday 23rd of June from 7:30pm so as many as possible of those who campaigned so hard can get together to have a social drink together and share experiences from the campaign. Whilst it is a sad situation that Andrew is no longer our MP we must look forward and be as upbeat as possible. The uncertain outcome of the election could mean another General Election sooner than we think so it's important we look to bounce back.
Andrew also wants to thank as many of you personally as he can and will be there to say a few words.
If you have any friends or family who helped with the campaign them please feel free to invite them so we can express our gratitude for their efforts. It is not an event necessarily for members only as many of our helpers were not actual Party members. I hope you can attend, the Conservative Club were a great support during the campaign including financially and it would be great to repay that with a good attendance and also an opportunity to put the 2017 general election behind us and move forward. There will be a cash bar on the evening.
Please mention this event to other members in case they don’t check often or don’t have email and please mention to any non-members who you know helped during the campaign.
