Local Conservatives Jamie Douglas and Will Rowlands have expressed their relief that the new plans for the Howard Town Mill development will see the re-instatement of the path leading from Howard Town Mill car park up to Smithy Fold and High Street East.
After looking at the site, Will Rowlands said, "This is good news for the economy of the town, and I'm really pleased that the path will be re-opened. Hopefully it will ensure that people will visit the whole of Glossop, rather than just the Howard Town Mill development."
Commenting at the site, Jamie Douglas added, "This path is absolutely crucial to ensuring that the centre of Glossop isn't cut off from the development at Howard Town Mill. The news that the path will be rebuilt is great for the town and for the residents, and I'm sure the council will ensure that the path is well sign-posted from the Mill car park."
